The Diplomate pathway

The board sets the bar. We map every rung.

A Diplomate of the International Board of Applied Kinesiology (DIBAK) is the highest certification in AK. Our comprehensive curriculum map targets those published competencies so preparation is efficient rather than folkloric.

Published requirements

What candidates must actually complete

Summarized from publicly available IBE and ICAK materials. Always confirm current rules, fees, and sitting dates with the board and your chapter before you apply.

01

Licensure to diagnose

Applied kinesiology, as defined by the college, is limited to health-care professionals licensed to diagnose — or students in accredited programs who will hold that license. We enroll to that standard.

02

300 hours of approved instruction

Diplomate candidates must complete a minimum of 300 hours of AK instruction taught by certified teaching Diplomates. The Diplomate Preparation Program is built to organize, deepen, and examine that body of work — not to replace it.

03

Three years of AK practice

The board expects three years of clinical practice using AK procedures. Case conference in this program is designed so those years produce a documented, defensible method rather than a pile of unexamined habits.

04

Two original papers

Two research or original papers meeting International Board of Examiners guidelines. Paper Studio walks structure, literature, case series design, and revision until a draft is actually submissible.

05

Five-part written examination

Five 100-question tests — Nutrition, Acupuncture, Respiratory, Reflex procedures, and General AK — each passed at 75%. Domain mapping and timed drills are the academic core of the program.

06

Extensive practical examination

The practical is not a courtesy. You will be asked to test, locate, sequence, and correct in front of examiners. Labs and station simulations exist for that hour, not for theatre.

Where we sit

Independent preparation. Official examination.

AK Mastery does not confer Diplomate status, teach the 100-hour basic series as a substitute for a certified teaching Diplomate, or speak for ICAK. We exist in the gap between classroom theory and a sitting you can walk into without guessing.

Written tests are given at international and chapter meetings based on demand. Failed domains may be retaken. The practical is extensive. Papers have guidelines. None of that is secret — it is just rarely organized into a pipeline a working doctor can actually finish.
